Analyzing some publicly available data from our friends at <a href="https://crunchbase.com/">CrunchBase</a>, we break down the aggregate statistics for all funding deals by stage of funding (Angel/Seed, Series A, Series B, and Series C+, as well as venture non specified rounds less than $10M). <h2><strong>QUICK TAKEAWAYS:</strong></h2> It was a banner year in Los Angeles with startup funding up over 20% for 2016 while funding nationally fell over 25% over the same period. There were strong gains in early stage (seed and angel) and latter stage deals in LA. The number of deals fell across all stages but larger funding amounts accounted for the growth. Series B funding was up 59% and late stage (Series c+) deals were up 46%.
